The Christmas Tree Adventure

Every year now for about 5 years we have gone to the same tree farm to cut down our own Christmas tree. This year we went with about 40mins of daylight left in the snow and cold. After searching until it was too dark to see, we found nothing worth bringing home! We almost cut down this one, but decided not to.
We were all bummed about not finding a tree, so as we drove home, we kept our eyes out for a place that was selling pre-cut trees. The first stop had a great tree for nearly twice what it would have cost to cut down our own, so we passed. Our second stop was more successful! George went in first to see if it was even worthwhile and he quickly came back out. In the same price range as the cut-your-own, he found a beautiful tree and we strapped on the truck!! We were so excited that we actually had a roof rack this year and a reason to use it!
We brought it home and set it up. As it started to warm up, it filled the house with that wonderful Christmas tree smell. The girls helped me decorate it, and they did a wonderful job. I talked to them about the meaning of Christmas and the reasons for the angel and star on the tree.
They also hung the window clings on the windows and attacked the inflatable snowman.
Now, I just need to brave the cold to hang the lights on the house!! Brrrr!!
