At the end of the day Friday, I managed to get a set of hard to come by tickets for Maize Valley. We picked George up from work and headed to Hartville. It was windy and a little cold, but we had a good time (for the most part). The kids started by looking at the animals. Erin is afraid of any animal bigger than especially when they make noise. Sammie was excited to pet the horse, but Erin kept yelling at me to back up (I was holding her). Next, the girls played on the hay pile, a rock pile and a tire pile. The had a lot of fun crawling around the tubes! Then the owner fired pumpkins out of his home made "air gun" using an air compressor. It was really neat to see how far the pumpkins would fly. Once again, Erin yelled at me to back up because the pumpkin gun was making a loud sound that scared her! Then we rolled Samantha down the hill in a drainage tube, very fun!
After a short trip through the corn maze and a visit to the piglets, we headed to the pumpkin patch to get a few more pumpkins. Erin was so excited about the pumpkin patch. This is when the day made a turn for the worse. As George was loading up our pumpkins, I set the camera on the bumper so that I could change Erin. George shut the hatch and noticed it didn't quite shut all of the way, thanks to the camera. In the end, it appears that only the screen is broken on the camera and we have found replacement parts online! Lucky us!!
