Climbing the Walls, Literally

Sammie had school off last Friday for records and reports day. George took the day off as a vacation day with the intent of taking Sammie snowboarding again. However, mother nature had different plans. Friday was the only day above freezing in weeks! Wet and slushy snow is not good for beginner snowboarders! Plan B - George signed them up for a parent-child climbing class at an indoor rock climbing facility. They both had a great time! Their instructor was a guy that George knew and wrestled with in high school. He certified George to belay (hold and secure the rope while another person is climbing). They also discovered that their instructor built the rock climbing wall at the YMCA's gymnastic center. Sammie has climbed on that wall a few times at the end of gymnastics class! George and Sammie then went out to lunch where they bumped into and joined their instructor. They really enjoyed the time together and are looking forward sharing this new activity with other family and friends!
