Erin eating a flower. She loved them!

Sunday we headed down to Canton South to check out the farm we invested in for a CSA this year. We gave them money and we get a weekly share of whatever the garden produces. The farm was much larger than we anticipated and is a government certified organic farm. The name of the farm is Simon Organics and its run by Brian and Amy Simon and their children. Sammie became fast friends with their youngest daughter who is only 9 months younger than Sammie. We got a tour of the 82 acre farm riding on the Gator. Erin giggled wildly the whole time and got the biggest kick watching the dog run along with us. It's a beautiful piece of property! We got along great with the owners and discovered that Brian has worked on some of the same jobs George has, except he designs technology systems. The girls chased chickens and Sammie quickly learned how to catch them! Erin didn't like the chickens and refused to pet one, but she did like the cows. The farm has dairy and beef cattle. A calf had been born the night before and we all got to pet him. Erin kept telling us that it was not a baby, it was a big cow. So cute! We also got to sample a few things from the garden including edible flowers that were actually pretty good! The girls got good and messy and Erin didn't mind at all for a change! It was a wonderful afternoon and we are looking forward to spending more time on the farm and getting to know the Simons better!
