Too Short of Time

Our poor little kitten ended having feline panleukopenia and passed away at the emergency clinic this evening. It's very sad for us. We knew there was a risk in adopting from a shelter, but we really wanted to rescue a kitten like we did when we got Sugar. I made sure that Sugar will be safe and since she is current on all of her vaccines, she'll be fine. It hasn't been decided if we will "exchange" our kitten according to the policy of the shelter, but if we do, the vet at the emergency clinic gave me some great tips for shelter adoptions. There were no signs that the kitten was sick until it was too late. We decided to the name the kitten Abby earlier today, which was interesting because we found out tonight that the kitten was male. 

So, to Abby: You were with us for way too short of time, but in that time you were loved and cherished as every kitten should be and will be missed greatly!
